[HOT] Future USCIS EB-5 Teleconference scheduled for 2012

By eb5attorney - Posted on 26 December 2011

USCIS has released the schedule for 2012 EB-5 Teleconferences as follows:

According to many EB-5 practitioners, these teleconferences are not that helpful. Also, EB-5 practitioners agree that CSC does not appear to follow what USCIS says in these teleconferences. Lastly, USCIS picks out only those agenda questions they want to answer; in other words, USCIS avoids tough questions, or their answers are too general in nature.

Our chief complaint is that USCIS flip flops too often on important EB-5 issues without any warning, and any changes are effected so slowly that many EB-5 projects are left without any clear guidance. Also, I-526s and pre-approvals take too long. It makes you wonder if USCIS wants the EB-5 Program to take off or be dead.

All this has led one experienced EB-5 practitioner to write:

We would not be surprised at all if USCIS/CSC suddenly comes up with another issue that deals a big blow to the EB-5 Program.
